Hello World

You thought you were free.

You thought you could celebrate 10 years without me.

You were wrong.

If you hate me for leaving, don't worry, I always hated me too.

If you think I'm just an imposter who hacked into his email accounts and sites... that would be a very reasonable assumption. Wrong, but reasonable.

If you're happy I'm back, don't get too excited, I don't have anything for you.

But isn't it fucking cool that someone disappeared from the internet for 10 years and then came back?

If this is true then...
  1. HOLY FUCK!
  2. Welcome back?
  3. I don't care that you don't have anything, but I do wonder about the disappearance. I may not have been active during that time, but I've been watching your games and the subsequent forums that followed, and they went into a bit of a tizzy when you vanished. Makes me curious.
But seriously, welcome back. I am genuinely surprised to see this topic, and here's hoping you don't decide to take another 10 year break.

Wow, we waited for so long...

The hentai game market has changed for the better imo. Even Steam has got some ecchi games now. Hopefully you're still into making hentai games.

1. No kidding!
2. Thank you!
3. It's not very interesting. I stayed away due to a combination of depression/burn-out, a normie career that took off and sucked up my time, fear about social/legal repercussions, and guilt about not finishing Mystic Girl + being away too long/frequently. But now I've been gone so long that the novelty of showing up again was irresistible.

It'll never be too long. Never.

It sure has changed. Forget ecchi; Steam has full-on rape games now (see: Lilipalace). I don't understand how that's legal in NA but I've got no complaints.

That said, I sure wish the games themselves had advanced more, overall. Maybe Steam will change things if it brings in more money.

I've started a few new hentai games but never got very far. It's tough; if I do something new I want it to be a real step up, but that takes more time than I have, so I end up doing nothing.

If you make it, they will fap.

Also, if it's something you really want to do you don't need to publish it under your name or anything, use an alias and take the pressure off.

The best part about all this is that you posted in this section and on your blog; two places almost nobody would ever look. There're so many questions, so many things to say, but I guess the most important thing to ask is: are you staying for a while?

I actually run an adult games development server if you'd ever want to join; doing everything yourself can be a huge pain, but if you wanted to focus on just art or just programming or just designing/writing, I'm sure there would be lots of people on the server who would willingly team up with you to make games with you.

I sent you a PM to the discord server, if you did want to join. Glad to see you're back, hopefully you'll stick around :D

Mystic Girl or riot. ;)
But nah, though I never had the pleasure of interacting with you before you "died", welcome back (and thanks for all the faps that Jungle/Demon Girl has given me).
I'm sure you might know already but your Newgrounds account has been hacked into several years back and your games have been "upgraded" with scam links.

Not only has linemarvel made a post, but Dark's making a non-moderator post outside h-games? This is truly a rare event indeed!

Nah, this thread ain't about me. It's about history.

Though to be honest, I find it kinda rude to already be asking if he'd wanna look into making h-games again. He left for a myriad of reasons; one of them being about game dev. For him to show up after ten years, and immediately we ask if he'd like to get back into it just seems kinda... Pushy? Insensitive? I dunno. I'd venture to guess that he probably doesn't even mind, but it still seems kinda inconsiderate to me.

My bad on offering; I only did so because his post seemed to indicate that he wanted to do it but just didn't have the time to do everything himself, and I figure if he voluntarily stayed hidden for so many years, to come back and make a post about it could indicate he has at least some interest in returning to the commmunity or being involved in them, etc.

HI! Nice to know you're still alive! Jungle Girl was the first hentai game I ever played and I was very sad when I moved onto demon girl and found out you had vanished. Of course trying to find out what happened to you is how I found this place so that was cool. I'm not gonna say I want you to make anymore games, but I wouldn't be upset if you did. Mostly it's just great to know you're still alive.

To be fair this sounds like a person who WANTS to make a hentai game. I don't think encouragement, or offers of help are rude at all.

I can definitely agree with that. It's just that, and at the risk of being an armchair psychologist, this:

I stayed away due to a combination of depression/burn-out, a normie career that took off and sucked up my time, fear about social/legal repercussions, and guilt about not finishing Mystic Girl + being away too long/frequently. But now I've been gone so long that the novelty of showing up again was irresistible.
... sounds like somebody who doesn't want to be straddled with the expectations of others. And encouragement sounds awfully a lot like expectation. But I'm not him and have no right to put words in his mouth, nor do I have any right to tell people what they should say (at least, not without mod status, haha), so I apologize.

I think I'm mostly just saying this because I've always liked his blog more than his games, and would rather hear him share his thoughts and just be another dude in the forums than for him to develop more games, stress out, and leave again.

Fair enough, reading between the lines isn't something I'm good at.

And I'm happy enough to accept any new or... re-new members, lord knows we could use 'em.

This might be weird and out of place, but it's a random curiousity that popped into my head. I don't know how much you've looked into things either during your absence or afterwards, but if you are aware of koonsoft and the games he makes... I'm curious about your thoughts on that?
